ABOUT GREENSEEN

The Tree Depot

33-Acre Container-Grown Texas Tree Farm

The Tree Depot is located in Harwood, Texas and services wholesale and retail clients with high-quality, container-grown trees. Our trees range from 1-gallon to 50-gallon and we carry a range of tree species including Live Oaks, Red Oaks, Crepe Myrtles, Vytex, Palms, Eagleston Hollies, Sycamores, and more.

Aquaponics Sustainable Tree Nursery Irrigation System

The Tree Depot’s growers adhere to the highest standards of environmental stewardship and sustainability, ensuring the health and vitality of our trees. We have implemented several sustainable practices that not only conserve water, but also extend the life of your trees.

At our property, we have several freshwater tanks stocked with several freshwater fish species. We have cyclical pumps that pump water from the tanks to hundreds of yards of irrigation systems. Then, we also pump freshwater back into the tank through rainwater tanks and a freshwater well on-site. The process of utilizing the fish waste to water the trees is also known as “aquaponics.” Fish waste is rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, and other essential nutrients. We then process the waste into a nutrient-rich, organic fertilizer. Once applied to the tree soil, these nutrients are readily absorbed by the tree roots, providing a natural and sustainable boost to tree growth. This method not only recycles what would otherwise be waste but also replaces the need for synthetic fertilizers, reducing environmental impact while promoting robust and healthy tree development.

The Tree Nursery Advantage

The Tree Depot services clients from all over the United States, and provides a specific advantage to Greenseen clients because we are able to control the entire growing process, ensuring our job sites always have high-quality trees. Further, oftentimes landscape plans call for specific tree species in specific sizes that can be challenging for contractors to source. With The Tree Depot, Greenseen can ensure that the trees are always readily available and in stock.
